Slab 57 | Petrified Wood, Blue Forest, Kemmerer, Wyoming | 3 3/4" and 1 3/4" limbs. These limbs are from the well known location that has a huge number of limbs, most are an extinct member of the Pepperwood family. They were washed into a warm shallow lagoon and coated with stromatolites (colonies of an ancient blue-green algae). I have dissolved the stromatolite coating to expose only the agate crust (not all of them have one) and the wood itself. The long one is coated with agate. Some of them are fragile so handle with care! |
